A truthful and liberated body.

Sanctomb puts the queer body face to face with death. In a physical and poetic exploration, Køteren og Terrieren challenges the narratives that turn death into a tool for alienation and control. Instead, they look for new forms of hope, comfort and community that do not recreate established, binary narratives about life and death.
Death can then become an opportunity. A place where we can take ownership of our own narrative and regard mortality as a liberating force. Can confronting one’s own death be a way to live a more truthful life?
Sanctomb is a collection. Body, movement and voice open up a space for presence, care and acknowledgement – a place where the queer body can exist on its own terms.
Sanctomb is the second part of a trilogy that started with Epiclogue, in which Bjørk-Mynte Paulse and Jonathan Ibsen examine gender, sexuality and identity. Together they write – and rewrite – themselves into the histories that have excluded queer lives. By starting with the known and turning it on its head, they look for a liberating potential: to create a truthful and living body, across norms, time and narratives.
